OVNI 52 EVOLUTION Year 2014
Designed by Marc Lombard, the aluminium hull OVNI 52 Evolution, built by Alubat, is a long distance journey boat with respect for the famous Vendée shipyard know-how. It offers a modern interior design with a wide 3-stair and not very steep companion way (more than 1m / 45°) to access the cabin from the cockpit. There is a huge impression of inside volume. The well covered cockpit presents two long benches and a large Staron table. Full electronics is available at each helming positions. Hard chine and aft main beam provide remarkable stability.
Owner's words
After having boating for a long time on a 43 feet monocoque and then on an Outremer 55 catamaran; I was expecting a boat which join advantages from both. The first point is security: After the wreck of Outremer 55 by hitting afloating object, I wanted a strong boat but also light, therefore aluminium became obvious in case of storm, vertical stabilizer up the dinghy is comfortable in rough sea. Comfort: We wanted to meet again as in our catamaran, space and volume and also small difference between floor center of the boat, kitchen and cockpit. Also we wanted a boat with low pitch and which will go trough softly. Monocoque get another advantage: berth in harbor and marina.
Speed: Careful on this point we wanted a boat fast and powerful, but easy to handle with less crew.
