CIGALE 16 Year 2000
Jean-Marie FINOT designed a blue water cruising ULDB with a bulb keel and water ballasts, carefully built in aluminum by Alubat. This unique central saloon and twin aft cabins version was adaptated and upgraded for fast cruising. Her first and only owner maintained her and equipped her for a "voyage" program. Easy to live aboard, both at anchor and while sailing, this fast and elegant sailboat is ready to go and sail the world again after a major refit in 2020 (around 240 000 euros) due to a grounding without structural consequences. Perfect to sail tha world with family and friends, she is a very nice basis to be prepared following your expectations.
Owner's words
My Cigale 16 got out of the Alubat shipyard in august 2000 and taken to New Caledonia by myself via Teneriffe, Saint Martin, the Panama channel, Marquesas, Raiatea, Cook Islands (Suwarrow), Samoa and Fidji Islands in about 15 months. I am the first and only owner until today. She is the best ship I sailed ans I would not sell her to change for another sailboat but I am 76 years old now and I also have a few health concerns. She is one of the very few Cigale 16 with a center saloon. I had this version built following what I asked because I personnally think the aft saloon is not that nice; while sailing, the comfortable staterooms are at the aft. After an unintended grounding without structural consequences in 2019, I had the ship totally refurbished thinking about the next owners.
