META 13m Year 1992
This is a very nice One Off built at the Meta shipyard in Tarare and designed by Chuck W. Paine who is reknown for his traditionnal looking sailboats on modern and efficient hull designs. She has been built with thick aluminium. Her heavy displacement allows smooth sailing and a high loading capacity, which is useful for blue water cruising. The cutter rigging with a self-tacking staysail added to the deck fitting quality make the short handed crew sailing easy and secure. The Scheel keel 1,70m draft offers good upwind performances. This strong ship is made to sail further again and for a long time.
Owner's words
We bought this boat in 2008 and head up to Gibraltar, Portugal, Madera, Canarias, Cabo Verde, Brazil and then we gone down to the South. We have been staying 3 years in Argentina where the shaol draft allowed us to sail the Rio de la Plata's channels. We came back to France by the same way. The boat already sailed and back 3 times across the Atlantic. The ship has been completely serviced and is ready to go again without money to be spent on it. We always felt safe aboard. The seaworthiness and upwind sailing abilities are impressive. This project was a dream we made true, the ship now needs a new crew to go on sailing the world. META shipyard
