ISLAND PACKET 40 Year 1999
A very beautiful Island Packet, cutter-rigged yacht built in the USA. Designed for long voyages with a small crew the yacht has roller reefing on all three sails and all lines can be handled from the safety of the cockpit. The heavy displacement assures comfort at sea even in difficult conditions whilst having a shallow draft.
The spacious interior in the American style affords life on board in conditions of optimal comfort both at sea and in port or at anchor. The two double sleeping cabins and the main saloon can accommodate up to seven people and there is plenty of storage in the many lockers including three hanging lockers.
Owner's words
We purchased this boat in 2007 in Malta where it had been laid-up ashore for three years after being sailed across from America by the original owner who had been using it for family sailing in California. Over the past 12 years we have cruised for about three to four months per year in the Mediterranean visiting Sicily, Croatia, Montenegro, Greece, Turkey (including the Black Sea coast) and then back to Sicily, Sardinia, Corsica and eventually to France. The boat has been laid-up ashore every winter, fully winterised, all sails and running rigging removed and stowed inside the boat along with the outboard motor, dinghy, etc. We now offer our lovely cruising boat for sale as we intend to return to local sailing back in the U.K.
